My heart as well as thoughts and prayers go out to all the people effected by that shooting at Ft Hood, TX yesterday and then again today in Orlando, FL. I can never even begin to comprehend what would make people do such horrendous things.

RIP to the ones who were lost.

Anyone gonna watch the show and parade? I think I will just dvr it and do other things and then catch it later if I have time. I know I can catch all the hilites on Nascar Now or Wind Tunnel.

One can spend a lot of time on Jayski reading opinions by different bloggers who think their ideas are best and they have the right answers or opinions, but have you noticed how very few rea journalists and reporters there are nowadays? So many readers and viewers take so many bloggers remarks and opinions as gospel and for real.

Some excellent points made here. As for me, I am still shaking my head about the "whatever" we saw yesterday. It was not a race, imo.

Things I ponder. Big crashes usually occur on the straightaways or on the tri oval. So why change the rules for the curves only? JJ is the champion, foregone conclusion. Tell me how. The first 26 races, he was so-so and protected the points just enough to stay in the top 12. Then yesterday, he held back and stayed in the back (along with Tony and several others) and finally lucked out and finished 6th due to attrition from accidents and lack of fuel from others. How the heck does Nascar tout this as the greatest and proclaim him the best driver when all he does is manipulate (with help from others) the point system they have created? Throw in the fact that his crew chief is well known for cheating and pushing the grey area and we come up with the vanilla main stream hero with the beautiful wife that Nascar wants to represent them. Not my idea of a champion.

Brad Keslowski will be in the #12 the rest of year. Congrats, Brad. But tell me this: Why did only a couple of blogs or reporters mention that Brian Vickers got into Brad, therefore making him loose enough to get into Kurt Busch which caused that last wreck?

Truck race/good, bad & ugly

First off, as far as Nascar goes, all series...the Earnhardts hold the win records at Talladega. Dale with 10 and Jr with 5 but I can't remember how many of Jr's were consecutive...can any of you?

Okay, in reverse: The Ugly...that crash that was not of his doing but it took Hornaday anyway. Yep, that was ugly but he managed to get going again.

The Bad: That vile kyle had to go and win the race...

The Good: As Jr called him, at least the que bald headed fool didn't win to make it 5 at 'Dega. Do we have Bodine fans here? If so, then I apologize for feeling like Jr...

With the announcement that Vile Kyle is getting a new crew chief, I wonder if anyone reminded him about the snide comments he made when Tony Jr. was replaced as Jr.'s crew chief? something about,'...it's never the driver's fault, right?'

This is the best news I've heard in a while! I drove right past the track when we would go to Bristol, and it was so sad to see it just sitting there! I didn't even know that Bruton Smith had finally sold it!

Hope everyone will remember (especially the drivers) that it is not the track or the car that causes the "big one" at 'Dega; but it is caused by the drivers and what they choose to do while racing around the track. I look forward to the fast, close and exciting action around the track. I do not look forward to the bump drafting, the blocking, the "I want that spot" mentality and hearing so many of the wimpy drivers blaming accidents on everyone and everything but themselves.

Here is wishing for a safe and happy ending (anyone winning other than JJ) to the last of the best racing of the year.

Allmendinger charged with DWI: UPDATE: For the second time in a week a NASCAR driver is in trouble with the law. A.J. Allmendinger, driver of the #44 car, was arrested for drunk driving, Mooresville police say. Allmendinger was pulled over around 1:30 a.m. Thursday along Highway 150. According to police, Allmendinger blew a .08, which is the legal limit in North Carolina. Last week Mooresville police say alcohol was a factor in an accident involving NASCAR driver and team owner Michael Waltrip. Officers investigating the accident suspected Waltrip was drinking, but when he was given a field sobriety test, he registered a .06. In North Carolina the legal limit is .08.(News Observer)(10-29-2009)
UPDATE: The Richard Petty Motorsports driver, according to the police report, was driving a 2007 Lexus when he was pulled over at 1:27 a.m. He was released to others at the owner's request. Police said he blew a .08 on a breathalyzer test. He has a court date for Dec. 18. "I made an error in judgment last night for which I take full responsibility," Allmendinger said in a statement released by RPM. "I went out to dinner and I had a couple of drinks. I honestly felt fine but I obviously should have erred more on the side of caution particularly given what I do for a living. It was a bad judgment call and I apologize for that ... To my fans, sponsors, team and NASCAR. If anything good can come of this then hopefully I can be an example of being more aware of drinking responsibly and if even if you feel fine, take a cab, call a friend ... just don't risk it. I will do my best to make it right and use this to learn myself and hopefully educate others." The section about "the man most likely to ruin Nascar" and all comments in reference to that says a lot, especially when they talk about the hight dollar teams controlling. Think about it. The broadcasters always say "the cream rises to the top". Well, cream does cost more, right?

Only watched part of the show. I have decided for my part that I will no longer call it racing. It is a JJ, MM and JG show with sometimes a few other btw type mentions and then more hype over the fantastic season, chase and combo of JJ and CK....very tiring and boring so I got lots of yard work done during that show. And then tried to wear out the ff button on my remote. How about you all?
